The Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia issued a directive to determine the procedures to be followed in entertaining cassation cases presented before it. Relief on cassation began to be provided in the Ethiopian judicial system long after the introduction of the procedural laws both civil and criminal and therefore cassation procedures to be followed by both parties and the court has not been incorporated in the procedural laws as in the appellate stage. Therefore, this directive fills the gap in the procedural laws.
